Bettendorf, Iowa, February 6, 2026 — Rivermont Collegiate senior Stella Ashdown is a National Honor Society (NHS) Scholarship winner at the National Semifinalist level. This prestigious recognition is awarded to students who demonstrate outstanding academic achievement, leadership, service, and character.
Ashdown is one of only nine students in Iowa to earn this distinction and the only student from the Quad Cities to be recognized as a National Semifinalist.
“Stella embodies everything the National Honor Society stands for,” said Leigh Ann Schroeder, NHS Advisor at Rivermont Collegiate. “Her dedication to academics, leadership within our school community, and genuine commitment to serving others make this recognition well deserved. We are proud of the example she sets for younger students and look forward to celebrating her continued success.”
The NHS Scholarship program honors exceptional high school seniors who exemplify the four pillars of the National Honor Society. National Semifinalists are selected from thousands of applicants nationwide and are among the most accomplished student leaders in the country.
“Stella is well-deserving of this recognition,” said Collin Lawrence, Interim Head of School at Rivermont Collegiate. “She has been a leader both within our school as well as the larger Quad Cities community. She is an exceptional student and a deep thinker who lends her talents and time in the service of others. She exemplifies Rivermont’s pillars of intellect, character, and creativity. We are very proud of her.”
Ashdown’s recognition places her among an elite group of students competing for national scholarship awards and highlights the strength of Rivermont Collegiate’s academic and leadership programs.
Rivermont Collegiate celebrates Ashdown’s achievement and looks forward to her continued success.
