Rivermont Collegiate Affirms Accreditation Status with Cognia

(Bettendorf, Iowa – May 26, 2026) Rivermont Collegiate, a private preschool-12 college preparatory school, announces it remains fully accredited by Cognia, a global nonprofit accrediting organization serving more than 40,000 schools and systems in over 100 countries. This ensures continued uninterrupted service for students and families, and underscores Rivermont’s ongoing commitment to high educational standards, institutional quality, and financial stability.

“Rivermont Collegiate has a long history of operating under a dual accreditation structure,” said Collin Lawrence, Interim Head of School. “Reaffirming our relationship with Cognia is important for our school and our ability to provide an exceptional learning experience for all students – and it should ease any concerns students, parents, and staff have had regarding our path forward.”

Cognia’s framework emphasizes continuous improvement, innovation, and student-centered learning across diverse educational models worldwide. This global perspective and commitment to growth-oriented evaluation align closely with Rivermont Collegiate’s mission as an internationally minded independent school focused on academic excellence, cultural understanding, and student development.

Rivermont underwent its most recent accreditation review with the Independent Schools Association of the Central States (ISACS) during the 2023–2024 cycle. ISACS informed Rivermont that its accreditation will conclude effective June 30. The school is appealing the ISACS decision. Cognia’s accreditation of Rivermont Collegiate is separate and remains in full effect. There will be no impact on the school’s operations. Rivermont Collegiate’s next scheduled accreditation review with Cognia will occur in 2029.
