Rivermont Collegiate is Accredited and Fully Operational
Letter to the Rivermont community, May 22, 2026
Dear Rivermont Community,
This academic year has presented many wonderful opportunities for our families and children, as well as challenges for Rivermont. Thank you for your continued support and partnership as we focus on delivering an exceptional educational experience for our students.
Cognia, through which Rivermont has been accredited since 2002, has confirmed our good standing with them, which means we remain open and fully accredited. It also ensures that eligible Rivermont families can continue to use Iowa ESA funding.
Cognia is a global nonprofit accrediting organization serving more than 40,000 schools and systems in over 100 countries. Its framework emphasizes continuous improvement, innovation, and student-centered learning across diverse educational models worldwide.
This confirmation affirms Rivermont’s continued commitment to academic excellence, continuous improvement, and student outcomes. It also ensures that Rivermont will continue to provide the educational experience that sets us apart from other schools, as demonstrated by another strong academic year in which the current graduating class of 24 students received more than $5M in merit scholarship offers and more than 100 college acceptances.
As some of you know, ISACS informed Rivermont that its accreditation will conclude effective June 30. Rivermont has initiated an appeal regarding that decision. Most importantly, we want our families and staff to know that this decision was not related to the quality of education, student achievement, or academic outcomes at Rivermont Collegiate.
As we close the year and plan for our future, we ask that everyone help us continue our academic success by:
- Giving our kids a wonderful last week of school
- Supporting our students and faculty
- Volunteering to help with recruitment and fundraising
Thank you for your continued support, and we look forward to Rivermont’s future as we continue to adapt to the current education landscape.
Respectfully,
Rivermont Collegiate Board of Trustees
