October 3,3024 | Bettendorf, IA – College Board announced that Rivermont Collegiate has been named to the 2024 Advanced Placement® Program (AP®) School Honor Roll, earning Platinum distinction.

The AP School Honor Roll recognizes schools whose AP programs are delivering results for students while broadening access. Schools can earn this recognition annually based on criteria that reflect a commitment to increasing college-going culture, providing opportunities for students to earn college credit, and maximizing college readiness.

Rivermont Collegiate had nearly 80% of seniors taking at least one AP Exam during high school, 68% scoring a three or higher on at least one AP Exam, and 25% taking five or more AP Exams!

About Rivermont Collegiate AP Courses

  • Rivermont offered ten AP courses.
  • Each AP course had one section.
  • The courses were taught by seven AP teachers, with several teaching multiple courses.

“Being recognized by the AP Honor Roll as a platinum school – the highest recognition given – affirms Rivermont’s college preparatory mission,” said Collin Lawrence, Assistant Head of School at Rivermont Collegiate. “Students at Rivermont are provided with a rigorous education through Early, Lower, and Middle School that prepares them for later success in AP Courses. Those students are joined by academically inclined students from around the world in Upper School. Add highly qualified and passionate educators to the mix, and the result is a school culture that embraces intellectual challenge and performs to the highest levels. We are proud of all our students who take AP courses and earn college credit along the way.”

“AP gives students opportunity to engage with college-level work, to earn college credit and placement, and to potentially boost their grade point averages,” said Trevor Packer, head of the AP program. “The schools that have earned this distinction are proof that it is possible to expand access to these college-level courses and still drive strong performance – they represent the best of AP.”

Rivermont Collegiate is a nonsectarian, independent, multicultural college preparatory school for students two years old through twelfth grade. Located in the Quad Cities, the school serves local and global students to provide a rich cultural experience built on high expectations and individualized attention to help students excel.

College Board’s Advanced Placement® Program (AP®) enables students to pursue college-level studies—with the opportunity to earn college credit, advanced placement, or both—while still in high school. Through AP courses in 38 subjects, each culminating in a challenging exam, students learn to think critically, construct solid arguments, and see many sides of an issue—skills that prepare them for college and beyond.
