• Pick Your Pony – Get in on Derby Day excitement with our Pick Your Pony Game! Each Kentucky Derby horse will have its own bucket—pick the pony you think will win the race by putting your ticket into the bucket. After the Derby, we’ll draw one lucky winner from the winning horse’s bucket, and they’ll take home half the pot!
• Rivermont Derby – Similar to Pick-Your-Pony, but volunteers will race around the circle.
• Live Showing of the Derby – Watch the greatest two minutes in sports unfold in real-time with fellow Derby enthusiasts.

Bourbon Tasting Experience – A Toast to Derby Day!

This VIP tasting is your chance to savor an exceptional lineup of sought-after bourbons. Guided by a bourbon enthusiast, you’ll explore the rich flavors, history, and craftsmanship behind each pour while indulging in perfectly paired bites designed to enhance your tasting experience.

Call to Post: The Rivermont Derby

The countdown is on for the most anticipated race at Rivermont Collegiate! Join us for the first annual Rivermont Derby (Race for the Roses)—a spirited and lighthearted competition taking place during Rivermont Derby Day on May 2, from 4:00–7:00 p.m.

We are seeking five riders to compete in a one-of-a-kind race around the circle drive in front of the historic Joseph Bettendorf Mansion. Teachers, parents, faculty, alumni, and friends of Rivermont are all welcome to enter. Spots are limited, so race to reserve yours!

Rider Expectations

Selected riders will be asked to:

• Provide their own “horse” (cardboard cutout, stuffed animal, hobby horse—creativity encouraged!)
• Dress the part in Derby-inspired attire
• Submit a short bio introducing themselves and their horse (due March 1)
• Compete in one thrilling lap around the circle drive for the title of Rivermont Derby Champion
