Education Partner Program

Taking courses for full college credit through Rivermont’s Education Partner Program is a valuable part of the Rivermont Experience. Through the program, Rivermont 12th Grade students have the opportunity to take courses at our college and university partner campus,  Western Illinois University. While participation is voluntary and not a graduation requirement, the program prepares students for the rigor and style of college level coursework and provides the experience of attending class on a college campus.

During the spring semester of 11th Grade, students and their parents meet with the College Counselor to select courses for their 12th Grade year, including those offered at Rivermont’s partner colleges and universities. Once students select courses, Rivermont serves as the coordinator for their enrollment at the college or university, as well as manages admissions, course registration, and tuition processing.

Rivermont covers the tuition for one semester-long class (generally in the fall) at the selected partner college or university for every 12th Grade student. The cost for books and course materials is the responsibility of the student. Students choosing to take additional college courses while enrolled at Rivermont still enjoy the advantage of Rivermont’s cooperative agreement with our education partners, both in tuition and admissions.

Student schedules include their selected college courses and will be provided prior to the first day of school each year. Rivermont’s Education Partner Program provides students with increased opportunities and experiences, enhancing our ability to deliver academic excellence.
