The Rivermont Technology Fair is open to all area student students in Kindergarten through 12th Grade.

There are 8 entry categories:

  1. 3D Rendering/Non-Linear Animation
  2. Graphics/Publishing
  3. Innovative Technology Use
  4. Mobile Apps
  5. Music and Sound Design
  6. Programming
  7. Video or Linear Presentation (Includes Animation)
  8. Web Presence

Event Details

  • Participants should use the front entry doors of Becherer Hall to enter/exit the event.
  • Doors will open at 8 AM for project set-up. Judging begins at 9 AM.
  • Participants should prepare a presentation to explain project to the judge(s). Practice, speak clearly, and be prepared to answer any questions the judge may have. Refer to the scoring rubric for details to include in presentation. The judge will spend approximately 10-15 minutes with each project.
  • Rivermont rules and expectations apply at this event.
  • Once a participant’s project is judged, the participant may explore the Technology Fair to look at other projects and hands-on learning experiences that will be available. Until the project is judged, participants should stay close to their area.
  • At approximately 11:30, awards will be given out in the auditorium.  Each project will receive either a Blue or a Red ribbon.  Several projects will be chosen by the judges to earn an additional Purple rosette ribbon. Purple ribbon winners will be invited to attend the ITEC State Technology Fair in Coralville on May 3rd.
  • Participants should adhere to all copyright guidelines. Be sure to cite all sources.
  • Wifi is available. Ask for the Rivermont wifi password.
  • Concession stand will be available for snacks, etc. Power strips and cords are also provided.
  • Display boards are optional -not required. However, participants should have all artifacts necessary to explain the project and its process.  Storyboards, flow charts, documentation, etc., can be placed in a folder next to the project.
  • Please be respectful of all participants and judges. Introduce yourself and your project to the judge(s). Be sure to thank your judge(s) and shake his/her hand.

  • Event will conclude by noon.  Please be courteous and helpful in the clean-up process.

Awards

Each entry will receive either a Blue or Red Ribbon. "Best in Show" in each category will receive a Purple Rosette Ribbon, and be invited to share the project at the ITEC State Technology Fair.

$20 Per Group Project

Entry Form

By submitting an entry form, all participants agree to allow pictures of students/projects to be taken by Rivermont Collegiate and/or any news media relating to the event.  More information about preparing for the event will be sent to teachers/sponsors/parents once entry is received.
