Happy 2015 Rivermont Families! I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday break and is charged with energy for the upcoming year. 2015 will be another exciting year at Rivermont!
I would like to start this week with a heartfelt thank you to all our families as we work our way through this cold weather. Making the decision to open, close or delay school is always a difficult one for any school administrator because while ultimately the main concern is safety, there are a myriad of factors such as road conditions, impact to working parents and the school calendar to name just a few that are always considered. While I know delaying or closing school adversely impacts routines and schedules, please know that the administrative team approaches each school closure or delay decision very seriously. Thank you again for all your patience and understanding.
I would also like to recognize our unsung heroes, Charlie Rodriguez and Rex Masterson who brave the elements each morning to prepare the campus for students each day while June McWilliams and Dina Edwards arrive early each morning to prepare our daily meals. It is their efforts among many others that keep our school running on these cold winter days.
Mark your calendars for the next Evening with the Headmaster scheduled for February 3rd in the Becherer Hall auditorium from 6:30 to 7:30 pm. We will be discussing a variety of topics from our recent College Admissions Study to new curriculum initiatives. We will be Live-streaming the event over the web. Child care will be provided in the library.
Get ready for summer! Rivermont will be unveiling its new summer school catalog February 1st. We are following up our highly successful program last year with even more classes and events, including our continued partnership with River Music Experience (RME) offering three sessions of its highly successful Rock Camp USA on our campus. More to follow, so keep watching our website for details.
